The following Scholarships are coming due Friday, May 13, 2011:

• Eureka Police Officers Association Charlie Swanson Memorial Scholarship(May 12, 2011)
• Eureka High School Class of 1945 Scholarship
• Washington Elementary PTA Scholarship
• Eureka-Humboldt Bay Kiwanis Club Scholarship

You still have time to pick these up and complete them before Friday. Come to the Counseling Office and look in the Scholarship Box to find these (and more) applications.

The winner(s) of this annual scholarship will receive their award within 2 weeks of the listed deadline. All applicants should include their full name and mailing address with their submissions.

Don't let these get away!!!

The following scholarships are coming due in the next two weeks and so far, we have NO applications turned in for them. You need to come in and check them out, competition for these is low and  you have a good chance at getting them.

• Eureka Police Officer's Association: requires a "B" average, community involvement, three letters of recommendation. This is an $800 award. Due May 12, 2011
• Club Latinos Unidos Scholarship: Graduating seniors of Latin descent and based on financial need, minimum GPA 2.0, any major and any school is eligible. Due May 16, 2011 by 3:30
• Ralph E. Bumpus Memorial Scholarship: Students who will attend College of the Redwoods Automotive Technology Program, Minimum GPA of 2.0 This is a $1,000 award. Due May 18, 2011 by 3:30
• James Kwan Memorial Scholarship: Graduating senior from EHS, Minimum GPA 3.0, major in Fine Arts and/or Performing Arts. This is a $200 award. Due May 18, 2011 by 3:30pm

Applications for all of these are available in the Counseling Office in the Scholarship Box. Don't miss out on these, every bit counts!

The Eureka-Humboldt Bay Kiwanis Club is extending the deadline for turning in your applications.

You now have until Friday, May 13, 2011 at 3:30 to turn that application in. Don't have one yet? Come by and pick one up in the Counseling Office. There have been only a few turned in so the odds are good on this one!

Joe Felardo Business and Education Scholarship Applications Are Here

Applications are here for the Joe Felardo Business and Education Scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Graduating senior from Eureka High School
• Interested in a Business Major
• Minimum GPA of 2.5

What to submit:

1. Completed Scholarship Application

3. Letter of reference from a teacher
4. High School transcript

Two New Scholarship Applications!

Due Friday, May 20, 2011

We have new scholarship applications in the Counseling Office that are due May 20, 2011.

The first one is The Orion Vance/Pettengil Family Memorial Scholarships. These scholarships will be awarded based on high academic achievement and involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.

Eligibility Criteria:

• Eureka High graduating senior
• Minimum GPA of 3.3
• Involved in extracurricular activities and community service.

What to submit:

1. Completed application form
2. Official high school transcript
3. A one page essay on your future, discussing career and personal goals.

Harold W. Adams Scholarship Application

This scholarship will be based on high academic achievement, financial need and involvement in extracurricular activities and community service.

Eligibility Criteria:

• GPA of 3.5 or higher
• Financial need
• Involvement in extracurricular activities and community service

What to submit:

1. Completed application
2. Official high school transcript
3. A one page essay on your future, discussing career and personal goals.

Both of these applications are Due on Friday, May 20, 2011 by 3:30 p.m.
