CSF Applications!

Tomorrow (October 5, 2012) is the last day to turn in your CSF application and save $1.00! If you get it turned in by 3:30 on Friday, you only have to pay $4.00 instead of $5.00!

Turn in your application, a print out of last semester's grades and $4.00 to the finance office no later than 3:30 Friday, October 5, 2012 and save a dollar.

The final deadline for turning in CSF applications is October 31, 2012 with dues of $5.00.

Pick up your application in the Counseling Office today! You still have time to take advantage of the reduced dues.

California Scholarship Federation Scholarship Applications Are Here! Due 6/1/2012

This CSF Club Scholarship is open to Eureka High School graduating seniors who have achieved CSF Life Member status.

The California Scholarship Federation (CSF) is a statewide organization whose purpose is to recognize and promote academic excellence. CSF emphasizes high standards of service, scholarship, and citizenship for California high school students. CSF encourages service to the school and community, while fostering pride in scholastic achievement. 

There will be two $225 scholarships awarded this year. The final selection is made on the basis of academic accomplishments, leadership, and service. 

Applications are available now in the Counseling office.

CSF Application Deadline

Deadline: March 16, 2012

If you are interested in applying for CSF membership the deadline is Friday, March 16, 2012. If you need an application, they are available in the Counseling Office. You will also need to  have a copy of your grades. Turn your application, copy of your grades and $4.00 in to the Finance Office.

CSF does quite a bit of service in the community so if this is something  you are interested in, come to the Counseling Office and pick up an application!

You only need to have been in CSF club for 4 semesters with one being in your senior year to acheive Life Member status and recieve a cord at graduation and be eligible for local and national CSF Scholarships.

This is a great thing to have on an application, be it college or job.

Come in and get an application today. You will need to turn in your completed application, a copy of last semester's grades and $4.00 no later than Friday October 28, 2011.

What is CSF? 

CSF stands for California Scholarship Federation. It is an academic honors society for active and academically minded students. Being a member of CSF looks great on college applications, gets you special recognition at graduation, and can provide scholarships to active members.

Cool. How do I join?
At the beginning of every semester, you can pick up an application from the counseling office. Freshmen students are invited to apply beginning the second semester of their freshman year. Once the application is completed, turn it in to the finance office with $4.

Uh-oh, an application. Does that mean it’s hard to get in?
Students are admitted into CSF solely based on their semester grades. While some students find it difficult to get a high enough GPA, others have no trouble. But don’t worry—if you think CSF is right for you, then you probably are the type of person who won’t have too much trouble getting in.

What do I have to do to be a member? Do I have to do work?
No, you do not have to work if you’re a CSF member. In fact, you don’t have to do anything at all if you don’t want to. If you are interested in becoming involved in the community and earning community service hours, you should join CSF Club. CSF Club raises money through bake sales, staff car washes, movie nights, and other events that go to provide scholarships to graduating seniors who have achieved Sealbearer status and have demonstrated excellence in the areas of academics and community service.

What does it mean to be a “Sealbearer/Life Member” and what do I have to do?

Life Membership (Sealbearer) is achieved by qualifying for chapter membership for four or more semesters in the last three years of high school, and earns the CSF gold Seal on diplomas and transcripts. Grades in 9th grade are for status as an associate member before they can become an actual CSF member in the 10th-12th grades.  Becoming an associate member allows students to say they were a 4 year member of CSF which is important when applying to colleges and for scholarships. At graduation, Sealbearers are recognized and receive a gold stole, a CSF pin, and a certificate.

Most questions can be answered by Audra Gosvener who can be found in the counseling office. Of course, you can also talk to CSF members or the CSF Club officers.
