Scholarships Due This Week!

There are two scholarships with applications due this week! There is still time to turn them in!

Deadline May 10, 2012 no later than 3:30 pm

Eureka-Humboldt Bay Kiwanis Club:

Criteria:
  • Eureka High school graduating senior (2012)
  • Minimum GPA-2.5
  • Will be attending an accredited college, community college or university
  • Active involvement in school and community activities
  • Financial need is a consideration
Submit to the counseling office no later than  3:30 pm on May 10, 2012:
  1. Completed application
  2. One-two page personal statement. Strong writing skills are given preference
  3. Official high school transcript
  4. One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor who know you well.
Applications are available in the Counseling office.


Eureka Police Officer's Association Charlie Swan Scholarship:

Deadline May 11, 2012 no later than 3:30 pm

  • "B" average minimum (3.0)
  • Plan to attend a community college, trade school or a four-year university
  • Community involvement
You will also need to have no more than three letters of recommendation.

What to Submit:
  • Application
  • Essay
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Official High School Transcript
Applications are now available in the Counseling Office in the Scholarship Box.

Another New Scholarship! Eureka Police Officers' Association

Deadline: May 11, 2012

Eureka Police Officers' Association Charlie Swanson Scholarship applications have arrived in the counseling office. The deadline for turning this application is May 11, 2012. Eureka Police Officers' Association is offering one $800 scholarship.

"Charlie Swanson was a Senior Detective for the Eureka Police Department who believed strongly in his work and in helping others. His keen sense of character, devotion to the community, a love of the outdoors, and a strong sense of humor gave us all something to admire and respect. We unfortunately lost Charlie in the late fall of 1996 while he was doing his job. We are searching for an individual at Eureka High School who will carry on the ideals Charlie followed."
