Orion Vance/Pettengill Family Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: Friday May 4, 2012 before 3:30 p.m.

Applications for the Orion Vance/Pettengill Family Memorial scholarship are now available!

This scholarship will be awarded based on high academic achievement and involvement in extra curricular activities and community service.

Criteria:
·   Must be a graduating senior from Eureka High School
·   Minimum GPA of 3.3 or higher
·   Community service involvement
·   Extra curricular activities

What to submit:
1.      Completed application
2.      High school transcript
3.      A one page essay about your future personal and career goals.
4.      Letter of recommendation

Come to the Counseling Office and pick up your application today!

Submit your completed application packet to the Counseling office on Friday, May 4, 2012 no later than 3:30 pm.

Don and Roy Splawn Charitable Foundation West Scholarship Grant Program

The Don and Roy Splawn Charitable Foundation West Scholarship Grant Program is open to financially disadvantaged students who wish to further pursue their post secondary education, of an academic or vocational nature.

“We seek those candidates that exhibit true integrity, complete respect of and dignity for the human element.  They must be willing to persevere, toil and give back to their community during and especially after graduation."

The Don and Roy Splawn Charitable Foundation West offers a Scholarship Grant of up to $1,000 (One Thousand Dollars) to eligible students who demonstrate significant dedication to their school, family and community. Students who live independently or whose parent(s)/guardian(s) struggle financially are encouraged to apply for consideration.

Criteria:
1) High School Senior
2) CA resident
3) Financial need
4) Academics (2.6 GPA and above)
5) Employment: Paid or unpaid Community Service, Extracurricular Activities

Scholarship Application
1) Online application
2) Current year transcript
3) Letter of recommendation (may be from counselor, teacher, employer, etc.)
4) 1-2 page essay on a selected topic
5) Current year FAFSA Summary Report

Application Process
To apply, please fill out the Application completely. Please note you will be required to save and upload attachments to your Application. If you have any difficulties with this process, please email your questions to the Foundation Administrator at splawnscholarship@hotmail.com.

The Application must be received no later than Saturday, April 15th, 2012, at 11:59 p.m. (PST). Late or incomplete Applications will not be considered.
