Spring Break!!!

We've all been waiting for this, Spring Break!

It's getting very close to decision making time for choosing which college you will ultimately attend. Some of you may be going on college visits this week to help you make those final decisions. You probably have a lot of questions about what to look for, what to see and what questions to ask to get the most out of your visits.

Here is a link to a checklist you can print off and take with you. It's extensive so you  may not need to do everything but it's a place to start.  College Visit Checklist

Here is a link to an extensive list of questions to ask while you are there. Again, you may not need to ask all of them but you can get an idea of what you could or should be asking. It will be a good resource to review before you go and pick and choose the questions that are important to you.  Campus Visit Questions to Ask

Then at the end of your visits, here is a summary checklist you and your parents can fill out to see which college seemed to be a good fit for you.  Summary Sheet

All of these (and more) are available at this website My College Calendar Blog  Check it out, there is tons of information and advice about the process of getting into and going to college. It is geared for incoming freshman and anyone who is thinking about attending college in the future. It's never to early to start planning!

SCHOLARSHIPS!!!

Spring Break is also a time to get those scholarship forms filled out and ready to submit. There are several that will be due the week we get back so take advantage of this time to work on them. You can find out what is coming due by looking around here on the blog. Stop by the counseling office on the Monday we get back (April 16) to pick up any applications you may  have forgotten.

If you need to pick up an application that will be due on April 15, the Registrar's office will be open tomorrow (Friday April 6) after 12:30 and the week of 4/9-4/13 as well. Check past posts on this blog for any that are available as online applications.

The scholarships that are due April 10- 15 are The Ralph E. Bumpus, The Howard Friel Family, and the Emblem Club scholarship.

Above all, make sure you take some time to spend with your friends and family and to RELAX. We are coming in to the home stretch so rest up and be fresh and ready to go when we get back. You're almost there!!!
