Back to School Night is Thursday, September 13. 2012 

It’s that time of year again, back to school night! Here is your chance to come to the school and meet your student’s Principal, Administrative Team and teachers, tour their classrooms and get to know more about our clubs, boosters, PTSA, buy logger gear, yearbooks and ASB cards.

The Class of 2015 is hosting a Spaghetti Feed Fundraiser from 5:00pm-6:30pm in the Cafeteria for the low price of $5 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

You will also be treated to a performance by both the Jazz Ensemble and Limited Edition.

Pick up your student’s schedule starting at 5:00pm in front of the Auditorium. Please join our Principal Rick Jordan and Administrative Team for a welcome message at in the Auditorium at 5:30pm.

Here is the class schedule for the evening so you can go around and visit your student’s classrooms and meet their teachers:

Period 1: 6:35—6:45

Period 4: 7:20—7:30

Period 6: 7:50—8:00

SAT and ACT Fee Waivers on Back Order!!!

Due to receiving a shorted supply of fee waivers, we have run out! They have been reordered and we expect them to be here in 7-10 business days. We will have them in plenty of time to register for the next test date (SAT registration deadline October 1, 2012). 

We are hoping to have the ACT waivers in time for the September 21 deadline for the October 27, 2012 test date.

We will keep you posted here on the blog and in the bulletin when we receive our order.

Counselors Out of the Office September 12, 2012

The Counselors will be out of the office all day on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 as they will be attending the Senior Picnic. 

The office will close early on Wednesday September 12, 2012 at 2:15 for a departmental meeting. 

USC First Year Applicant Deadlines!

USC First year applicant deadlines!

If you are interested in going to USC (University of Southern California), here are some deadlines you should know about. The Common Application is now available for the 2013-2014 year.

• If you are a first-year applicant and want to be considered for scholarships through USC, the deadline is December 1, 2012

• First-year applicants for regular consideration (no scholarships) the deadline is January 10, 2013

• Transfer application deadline for regular and scholarship consideration, the deadline is February 1, 2013

Rotary Exchange 2013-2014 Informational Meeting

Attention students interested in applying for Rotary Exchange for the 2013-2014 school year: An information meeting will be held on Thursday, September 20^th from 6pm to 7pm at Eureka High School. Students and parents, mark your calendars! The location will be announced shortly.

SAT Registration Deadline: Sept. 7, 2012

This Friday, September 7, 2012 is the registration deadline for the October 6, 2012 test!!! If you are planning to take this test, you need to be registered by Friday, September 7, 2012 to avoid paying late fees.

If you are an AVID student or on free/reduced lunch program, stop by the counseling office during lunch or after school and see if you are eligible for a fee waiver. This will save you the $50 registration fee for taking the test. You will need to have your fee waiver BEFORE you register, they will not waive the fee retroactively. Just come into the office and ask the secretary for a fee waiver. 

Remember, you can find practice tests and other excellent tools on the website to help you prepare for this test. You will also find information about financial aid and other topics related to getting into college.

Humboldt Del Norte College Night: Save the Date!

It's almost time for Humboldt Del Norte College Night!!!

Save the date and mark  your calendars for Thursday, September 27, 2012! Eureka High School will be hosting the 29th annual Humboldt Del Norte College Night. 

You will be able to meet with representatives from a variety of colleges, universities and career paths during this information filled evening. There will be several presentations on topics from financial aid, NCAA and writing a good personal essay.
