American Business Women’s Association Farthest West Chapter 2012 Scholarship

Requirements:

• Have been a resident of Humboldt County for the past year
• Must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Attending Humboldt State University or College of the Redwoods

Criteria:

• Pursuing a professional career
• Scholastic Standing
• Ability to express potential and planning to achieve educational goal

What to submit:

1. Completed application
2. One page personal biography and goal statement
3. Current high school transcript
4. No more than three (3)  letters of character (reference letters)

Coast Central Credit Union Scholarship

Deadline: March 16, 2012

Are you planning on going to CR, Humboldt State, Shasta Community College or Chico State University? Then this scholarship might be for you!

A total of thirteen scholarships may be awarded to qualified applicants , based on their academic record. Serious consideration will be given to those students who have demonstrated a commitment to education, either through outstanding academic performance OR through consistent improvement as well as financial need. These scholarships have a potential value of $4,000 over the course of four years!

Qualifications:

• Graduating senior from a high school in Humboldt, Del Norte or Trinity county
• Must apply and be accepted to College of the Redwoods, Humboldt State University, Shasta Community College or Chico State University as a full-time student for the fall semester (12 units or more)
• Must have a high school grade average of "C" or better

Latino Mentor Day at HSU Feb. 10, 2012

Latino Mentor Day-February 10, 2012 from 10:00am- 2:00 pm.

Permission slips due February 7, 2012

Latino and Latina students who are interested in signing up for this field trip, come to the Counseling Office and put your name on the list and pick up your 2 permission slips. You will not be able to go if you haven't turned in both permission slips by Tuesday February 7, 2012.

This will be an opportunity to receive information about admission requirements, financial aid and to speak with current Latino HSU students. You will get a look into what the college experience is all about and have a chance to ask questions and shadow a Latino student around campus. Get the REAL DEAL from these Latino students.

Breakfast and lunch will be provided.

If you are a Latino or Latina student, come into the Counseling Office for more information and to sign up.

Humboldt State University Scholarship Opportunities

Humboldt State University is now offering two scholarships for first-time freshmen, transfer and graduate students entering Humboldt State University Fall 2012! The deadline for these scholarships is February 17, 2012.

HSU offers several different scholarships and has moved to a new scholarships system STAR, that allows students to apply online for multiple scholarships. 

You still have plenty of time to take advantage of these scholarship opportunities, don't let them slip by!

HSU Admissions Day October 22, 2011

Humboldt State University is having a Fall Admissions Day on Saturday, October 22, 2011.  Here is some more information about the day and how to register:

Fall Admissions Day (FAD) is a unique event within the California State University system because we'll let you know right on the spot if you will be admitted to HSU! Have your Fall 2012 application* reviewed by an Admissions Counselor and receive an admissions decision before you leave.

Fall Admissions Day is a one-day event on our campus on Saturday, October 22, 2011. Activities will begin at 9:00am and will last through 3:00pm. You can sign up today using our online registration page.
