Eureka-Humboldt Bay Kiwanis Club is offering $500 scholarships to graduating seniors from Eureka high schools including home school and charter school students.
Criteria:
- Graduating Senior from Eureka area high school
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Attending an accredited college, community college or university
- Financial need is a factor
- Active involvement in school and community activities
- Good writing skills. Spelling, grammar and punctuation will be considered.
What to submit:
- Completed application form
- Personal statement: 1-2 pages describing your most rewarding experience during high school and your career plans for the future. Strong preference will be given to students with good writing skills. Please include any Kiwanis affiliation if you have any.
- Official high school transcript
- One letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or counselor who knows you well
The committee really looks for good writing skills for this scholarship. Make sure you proofread it and even have someone else look it over to catch any mistakes you might have missed.
Submit your completed application packet to the Counseling office by 3:30 pm on Thursday, May 10, 2012.
Applications are available in the Counseling office scholarship box so come and pick one up today!
