The Youth Conservation Corp is a well balanced work-earn program that develops an understanding and appreciation in participating youth of the nation's environment and heritage. It is administered by the U.S. Department of Agriculture-Forest Service and the U.S. Department of the Interior- Fish and Wildlife Service and National Park Service.
To qualify for these positions you must:
- 15-18 years old, male or female
- Permanent resident of the United States
- Eligible for employment
- Regardless of social, economic, racial or ethnic backgrounds
- No history of serious criminal, or other antisocial behavior that might endanger themselves or others
- Have or be able to obtain a work permit as required under the laws of the state
- Have or have applied for a Social Security Number
- Be willing to work hard and participate in most projects
This year's program runs from June 25 through August 16, 2012 and participants are expected to be available for the entire duration of the program.
Participants will be selected from a random public drawing on May 30, 2012
