February Scholarships to Apply For

We wanted to let you know about some scholarship opportunities that are just around the corner.

Due February 1, 2011- California State PTA Graduating High School Senior Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, you must meet the following criteria:

• Be a California resident
• Graduating from a California high school with a PTA/PTSA in good standing
• Be a member of you high school's PTA/PTSA and you will need a copy of your current PTA/PTSA membership card

This application requires you to turn in an essay, 3 reference forms that are located in the application. Your application packet MUST be mailed and received in their office by close of business on February 1, 2012

Applications are available in the Counseling Office scholarship box.


Due February 1, 2012- Soroptimist International of Humboldt Bay & Eureka Distinguished Youth Scholarship

This is a scholarship that recognizes outstanding contributions made by young people to home, school, community, country and the world.

To be eligible you must be a graduating senior from a Eureka area high school, taken an active part in community service, have leadership qualities, and have pursued your goals with commitment and purpose.

Applications are in the Counseling office and must be postmarked by February 1, 1012 to be considered.

Due February 1, 2012 Beverage Industry College Scholarship Program

This scholarship is for graduating seniors who have a parent or grandparent employed full time with a company or individual holding a valid California wholesale liquor/beer/wine license. Licensees include hotels, restaurants, wholesale grocery/retail grocer/drug store/convenience stores/ wineries/breweries and others. Employment by student or other family member does not qualify.  It mus be a parent or grandparent.

Christermon Scholarship

Due February 8, 2012-KFC Scholars Scholarship Program

To be eligible for this scholarship you must:

• Graduate from high school this academic year
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
• Plan to pursue a BA at a public, in-state college or University (begin school no later than 9/30/12)
• Be a US citizen or permanent resident
• Demonstrate financial need
