Charlie Swanson Scholarship~Eureka Police Officer's Association

Deadline: 3:30 May 12, 2011 in the counseling office

The Eureka Police Officer's Association is offering one $800.00 scholarship in honor of Senior Detective Charlie Swanson. Sr. Detective Swanson worked for the Eureka Police Department and believed strongly in his work and in helping others. He had a keen sense of character, a love of the outdoors, was devoted to the community and had a strong sense of humor. The community lost Charlie in the late fall of 1996 while on duty. This scholarship will go to the student who will carry on the ideals that he followed.

They are looking for for an individual who gives it their best, is well rounded with a strong base to grow from, and has a sense of where they are going, maintains a "B" average. Course of study can be in any field, and can attend a trade school, community college or four year college or university.

Your involvement in the community can be with an organization or just helping a neighbor on a regular basis. Commitment is the key, not the organization.

Come in to the counseling office to pick up your 2011 application form today.
